These ants were bridging from one tree to another using adjacent leaves, by holding each other. They were even pulling the leaves together

Nice ! Its the sticky substance secreted by their larva they are using as glue to bind the leaves together.

Nice Shot, These are a bit annoying when you have a Rambutan tree or Mango tree, harvesting can be tricky without being attacked by these critters. Just a little movement of the tree or branch and war is in effect, they will be all over you in seconds, they crawl, drop or even flick themselves at you and very annoying but very interesting to watch them build their nests out of leaves.
