I was able to determine species Gordon, thank you. Unfortunately, it is only an introduced species.

This is one of the twice-stabbed ladybeetles (Chilocorus). See http://bugguide.net/node/view/372/bgpage... for more information. I'm not sure if you can narrow it down from there to a species, but I'd be interested in hearing from you if you can. Nice spotting....
