Description:

Short-blunt ended needles. Growing at elevation (6200ft) near to treeline. Needles growing all around branches but tending to grow upwards, didn't seem to have a woody base.

I'm inclined to think this is a fir rather than a spruce species, and given the elevation and location Sub-alpine Fir is seeming most likely
