Blue-fronted Dancer, female

Argia apicalis

Description:

brown and black damselfly

Habitat:

rivers, streams, less often ponds and lakes, especially larger ones. Likes muddy rivers over small streams.

Notes:

I spotted this female Blue-fronted dancer in my garden, on mud. I don't know what attracted her to my yard; I only have a koi pond and several frog and lotus pools. Maybe she heard the waterfall on the pond, thinking it was a river
