Garden Croton

Codiaeum variegatum

Description:

Just some spottings from my garden, I love this plant. It's like something out of the era of dinosaurs. Despite the name, it's not related at all to the genus Croton, which has over 700 unique species. A tropical evergreen that can grow up to eight feet tall, the females flower yellow and the males flower white, but despite having this plant for a long time I've never seen mine flower.

Habitat:

It is native to Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, and the western Pacific Ocean islands
