Phasianus colchicus
Ring-necked or common pheasant is a species introduced to Europe 11 or 12th century, from Asia. Unmistakable with long barred tail. Male has a dark green glossy head with bare red cheeks, female is buff brown with lighter brown angular spots. White ring around the neck is typical for 'torquatus' group (in difference to 'colchicus' group).
Seen on cultivated lands bordered by a remnant forest, very close to habitations.
