They do help! It's a rough earth snake. You should add those photos to this spotting though :) You can click on "edit this spotting" in the upper right hand corner to add more photos, and you can enter in the common and scientific names there too. Then click save and it will all be updated :)

Do you have any other photos? The head says flathead snake, Tantilla gracilis, but the body says rough earth snake, Virginia striatula. Another photo may let me be able to tell which one it is!
