Maybe, PerilsofPlastic, the turtles are evolving! My daughter and I, while visiting the Naples Zoo in Naples, Florida, watched a small turtle slap every other turtle in the pond. That, we thought, was odd behavior for turtles!

Elaine ,the other day I saw a baby turtle swimming around it's mom. As soon as mom stuck her head out it would spread its tiny hands and try to grab her head.
I was a little surprised to see this in turtles.

Yukochartraw, Seema and PerilsofPlastic....thanks for the comments and Favorites! The turtles sure do look like a family and I was surprised to find this grouping but....turtles don't have families, do they? Emanuelgoyco...thanks for both the id and the favorite; Phil S I thank you, too, for the ID. Leana Lahom-Cristobol....thanks for Favoriting the turtles :)
