Grey Tree Frog

Description:

Chameleons of the frog world! These amazing little guys can survive cold winters and have been laying their eggs near my pool, perhaps to avoid fish that might otherwise eat them. They have amazing color patterns and can change color from nearly black to a chalky white or mint shade. Pattern resembles moss or tree bark.

Habitat:

Wide range in the Midwest US and up into Canada. I often see them on the outside walls of building hunting near lights.

Notes:

One of the only ways to tell the two variations of Grey tree frogs apart is by their call.
