Welcome to Project Noah, carpeia34! We are so glad you have joined us here. :-) This beautiful insect you have found is actually a relative of dragonflies, it is called a damselfly. They have much more delicate features than dragonflies and have some other differences (thin, long abdomen, wings that are usually folded together over the back or held slightly spread).

They are predators, like dragonflies, and eat smaller flying insects. Their larvae are aquatic (like dragonflies).

If you do not know the scientific name of an organism, you should leave that section blank and mark the little box that says "Help me to ID this species". I have removed the incorrect information from your scientific name fields in your spottings. Once you have the correct information, you can edit your spottings (unmark the help to ID box and enter in the scientific name, then save) and you should have a correctly identified spotting. :-)

Since you are new here, it would be a good idea to read through the FAQ page for the general guidelines for posting. There is also additional information on the site. http://www.projectnoah.org/faq

You are off to a great start! I am looking forward to seeing more. :-)
