Virginia Spiderwort

Tradescantia virginiana

Description:

Bright blue flower with 3 petals and 6 yellow anthers. Several in this area. Overall plant height was about 50 cm.

Habitat:

Open field next to powerline

Notes:

Note that the sepals inflated and are not hairy, nor do they have end tufts. This makes this T. virginiana, not the very similar Ohio Spiderwort (T. ohiensis).
