Description:

From BugGuide.net : "Corporal" comes from the stripes on the female and teneral, presumably. Mature males deep blue, dark marks at the base of wings. Teneral male and female are brown with "corporal stripes" on thorax. Length 31-35 mm. Range Southeastern United States

Habitat:

Woodland edges near ponds, also slow-moving streams

Notes:

Season: March-May (early spring only). Predatory on flying insects. Spotting is of an immature female Blue Corporal dragonfly
