Was the back foot white or is that just a play of light? Did the fur look very short and velvety or was it normal length?

It is a wild rabbit. There are a bazillion of them around here in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Most likely an Eastern Cottontail since the Mountain species is larger and the Desert you would less likely find in urban areas.
