Little green Bee-eater

Merops orientalis cyanophrys

Description:

Small and slender bee-eater, predominantly green with a narrow blackish gorget (stripe around the neck) and black mask around eyes, some 15-16 cm long. In this subspecies, the face and front are distinctively sky-blue. Streamers are short, another difference from other subspecies.

Habitat:

Open country with plenty of bushes and shrubs, close to water.
