Groundcherry

Physalis sp.

Description:

The fruit look like lanterns. I looked through the species found in Florida here: http://florida.plantatlas.usf.edu/Genus.... and there seemed to be a few good candidates for species so I'm leaving it at genus for now

Habitat:

Grassy area next to a small, possibly manmade saltwater stream. JN Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island
