Water Spider

Description:

Colorful body, long black legs with a grey head, it looks for shrimp or fish in the stream, a very good swimmer and not aggressive. its about the size of 1 1/2 size of ping pong ball. Its hard to see but he has a web just above the water surface as well.

Habitat:

Jungles and fields

Notes:

I was wading when I noticed he popped up from under the water.

If you look closely he is gliding above the water, and he does dive to get fish too I seen it happen personally. Amazing moment.

I do know he is a good swimmer, as i swam near him i seen him dive into the water and came up with a tiny fish. and he glides on top of the water as if he was ice skating.

Looks like a Cyrtophora moluccensis.
I didn't know that this spider is a good swimmer.
