Windball

Boophone disticha

Description:

fan shaped habit, large bulbous base, named windball because after the large flower dies, it dries up and blows away, spreading its seeds. unfortunately I never saw it in flower.

Habitat:

miombo woodland, 1000m

Notes:

I spotted this only a few times around Fort Mangochi.
