Red Maple

Acer rubrum

Description:

This tree was already changing color, the swamp version of what happens up north

Habitat:

Marsh next to a shallow lake with other small trees, shrubs, and grasses

Notes:

Don't know if this is how red it gets or if it'll keep getting brighter. Still has plenty of dark green on it. Other maples in a different area nearby usually get much redder
