Is said that dragonflies are immature from leaving the larval catch until adult coloration. In this case, this dragonfly, when mature, will have a much darker color. In males the difference is greater: generally bright colours (especially red) and pruinosity develop only as the adult dragonfly matures.

I'm confused, how is it immature when its an adult, dragonflies are adults when they shed and fly, unless they shed again like some mayflies
