NZ chorus cicada

Amphipsalta zelandica

Description:

I was looking at a rockpool where I released a seven-armed starfish, when I noticed a large "thing" coming flying and hitting a rock...I went to check, and after some search, I found a cicada sitting on that rock, almost invisible, mottled with the stone colors. I picked him up, he seemed OK, so I looked around for a nice tree/bush, and I walked with him on my finger (like a living sparkly ring), until I found I nice bushy tree, about 100m away, but as soon as I left him on the branch, he flew away...
