Description:

This is the State bird of Alaska. I spotted them constantly throughout the Arctic year round although in the summer their plumage is brown for camouflage against the tundra. I will post some more pics with summer plumage and fall, "turning", plumage.

Just can not decide if it is more beautiful in Winter or Autumn plumage.
