Common Garter Snake

Description:

About 1 foot long.

Habitat:

Spotted in a cleared field surrounded by mixed woods.

Notes:

This was one of most aggressive garter snakes I've come across. It was full of pip and vinegar.

I do not think that this is a garter snake yours has checks instead of lines.
