Alectoria sarmentosa
I found these large mats of Witches hair lichen that literally formed curtains. Alectoria sarmentosa lacks a central chord that characterizes the genus Usnea.
Spotted on old growth fir trees next to the Cle Elum River in the eastern Cascade Mountains. Elevation 2400 ft.

Thank you, Tukup.
Congratulations on the nomination for Best Wildlife Foto-Funi. This is truly unique.
Just lacks the hat :-)
Cousin it !
Nice Brian. I have pictures of something similar down here that I haven't been able to identify. I'll have to see if I can dig the pictures up when I get back from my next trip. Thanks.
Thank you very much Jae.
Wow nice! Great spotting, Brian.
