Description:

The caterpillar presents long fur-like setae, black at the 2 ends with reddish-orange in the middle. The adult is the Isabella Tiger Moth.

Habitat:

Boreal forest. The caterpillar emerges in fall and is feeding until winter freeze it. Some caterpillars could survive many winters before pupating. The moth emerges in spring or early summer.
