Description:

Banyon trees are best characterized by their aerial root taps seen "hanging" from its upper branches. The leaves are large and leathery.

Notes:

A member of the fig. It starts its lifeas an epiphyte(a plant growong on another plant) and its seeds germinate in the cracks and crevices of other trees. The seeds are spread by birds.
