Rhesus Macaque
Rhesus macaques live in large, multi-male/multi-female groups that have an average of 10 to 80 individuals. While the majority of parental care is the responsibility of the mother, rhesus infants are also handled by close female relatives and protected by adult males. Babies as young as a few days old can swim.
Rhesus macaques are native to Tezpur, Assam, India.
