Adelaide Rosella

Platycercus elegans

Notes:

This is the biggest rosella I have ever seen. I think it is an 'Adelaide rosella', an orange form of the Crimson Rosella - in the Adelaide area the crimson and yellow forms of the Crimson Rosella overlap in their distribution and the hybridised offspring come out orange. This bird was seen within the Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary in the Adelaide Hills.
