Litoria verreauxi (ssp. verreauxi)
Verreaux's Tree Frog is an Australian native species, aka Whistling Tree Frog, or Alpine Tree Frog (ssp. alpina). Highly variable in pattern with various combinations of green, dark brown and light brown. Size ranges from 25-40mm. The males call from the ground, often several metres from the pond, or floating amongst vegetation. The call is a whistling burst of 10-20 short notes. You can hear the frog's call at the following reference link - http://frogs.org.au/frogs/species/Litori...
Found at a rural property dam. Area surrounded by dry native woodlands. The species usually inhabits swamps, dam impoundments, and creeks in woodland, farmland, forest and cleared land.
L. v. verreauxi is widespread and common across eastern Australia, whereas L. v. alpina has a very restricted range and has suffered massive declines in recent years. It is currently listed as critically endangered.

Thanks, Mark. I have no problems with frogs. There are some interesting species in the Stanthorpe area that I've not seen in Brisbane. Birds are the ones I have trouble with.
Well done. Frogs always leave when I turn up :(
Cute little guys, and a pretty little whistling call.
What a beauty.
