Onitis alexis
Beautiful metallic beetle with bronze elytra. The thorax and head are green that look bronze at certain angles and light as seen in the third image. The elytra have shallow ridges and were hairless.
Attracted to the porch light in Oak Woodland/Chaparral transitional habitat. This beetle is not native to the US but has been found in Southern California. It was introduced from Africa and Southern Europe.
