Red deer

Cervus elaphus

Habitat:

The Oostvaardersplassen, where I shot this pictures is a beautiful nature reserve with a broad selection of wildlife. The willow woods are dying and in between you see te red deer, wild cows and Konik horses running. When a animal died they let the corpses to decompose in a natural way. By doing so the Burying beetle, a beetle that was extinct in Holland, came back in our nature.

Thank you Sophie.

A little hide and seek, but nice impression of the Oostvaarders Plassen!
