Large pusley

Richardia grandiflora

Description:

Widespread, and spreading wider, lowgrowing weed with white, pink, or light purple flowers. Flowers are one half to three fourths inch tall with six petals. Often seen growing in large clumps. Flowers in the winter.

Habitat:

Disturbed areas and lawns

Notes:

Native of Brazil. I first noticed it in our area (south florida) about three years ago and now it is almost taken over the roadsides and many lawns. I have seen bees visit the flowers but not noticed any butterflies at them yet.
