Thanks again, gatorfellows. There is no vernacular name for all these plants, and even if there is, it is of no use in a global site.

Here is a possibility, but I could not find a good enough photo for your range in India. Perhaps you can find it easier; It is a common one. Murdannia pauciflora http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/17697...

Here is a narrower search for you to follow; a genus called Murdannia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murdannia They are globally tropical, and within the Commelina family.

What do the leaves look like? If they are strap like look at Commelina sp.- they are 3 petaled blooms The most common is called dayflower - Commelina benghalensis http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commelina_b... I will try to see if there is another in India that fits the 3 petals.
