Missouri Wolf Spider

Geolycosa missouriensis


Fairly large, stout spider. This specimen is a male.


Prefers sandy areas where it digs a burrow and lines it with silk.


Another member of the party I was with found this male running across a path near Fountain Creek in the Security-Widefield area south of Colorado Springs. More about it here:
