Difficult to differentiate from other "leopard-spotted" grasshoppers. Thanks to David Ferguson for the identification of this female specimen.
Vast open field with very short grass, sparse yucca, cacti, and widely scattered elm trees.
This may be the only image of a living specimen, certainly of recent vintage.
