Description:

Very small (3 mm), black with variable red markings.

Habitat:

Arid deserts of the southwest U.S.

Notes:

This is the best my camera could do with such a small, fast-moving beetle. Specimen seen in Sabino Canyon Recreation Area just north of Tucson, Arizona.
