Two-tailed Swallowtail

Papilio multicaudata

Similar to the Western Tiger Swallowtail (and occurs in the same places), but the Two-tailed is larger and in fresh specimens has two tails on each hind wing. The stripes are narrower than on the tiger as well.

This butterfly was in montane habitat, nectaring at wildflowers along the roadside.
