Two-tailed Swallowtail

Papilio multicaudata

Description:

Similar to the Western Tiger Swallowtail (and occurs in the same places), but the Two-tailed is larger and in fresh specimens has two tails on each hind wing. The stripes are narrower than on the tiger as well.

Habitat:

This butterfly was in montane habitat, nectaring at wildflowers along the roadside.
