Eucalyptus galls

Apiomorpha sp.

Description:

A female gall about 35 mm long with a smooth exterior, arising from the stem. On neighbouring branches and along the main leaf veins, mostly, were cylindrical male galls with flared free ends (pics 4 & 5) .
Not sure if they are of the same species.

Habitat:

Spotted on a gum tree ( either E. goniocalyx or E. nortonii or similar) near a storm drain gully - nature reserve.

Notes:

The tree had a few other species of Apiomorpha galls - male and female.
Expert opinion ( Dr Lynne Cooke) says it could be A.conica judging by the other apiomorpha galls on this tree.
The host is more likely to be a member of Euc. Section Maidenaria .
