Congratulations Robert, this beautiful series is our Spotting of the Day for World Penguin Day!

"Today is World Penguin Day! World Penguin Day is timed to coincide with the annual northward march of Antarctic penguins to the seas. We celebrate with the less well known Royal Penguin (Eudyptes schlegeli) as our Spotting of the Day. Spectacular with its rich yellow/gold crest, it is endemic to the Macquarie Island group of Australia. It is found in that locality of the southern Pacific up to Tasmania and the southern Australian coast, whereas the similar Macaroni penguin (Eudyptes chrysolophus) is fairly widespread through the southern Indian and Atlantic oceans around sub-Antarctic islands".
