Description:

Upperside is chestnut brown; black borders of forewings have 2 rows of white spots; white spots are scattered at the forewing apex. Underside of hindwing has black veins; black borders of both wings have 2 rows of white spots. Upperside of male hindwing has a black scale patch. Always a few of these whenever there are Monarchs.

Habitat:

Gregg's Mist flower in a wildlife habitat garden.

This time of year is a change for weather and spottings here in North Texas. The migrants on the lake are getting fewer, but the song bird migrants are beginning. As long as it is not too cold and windy I am out with the camera. Glad to share my photos with you :)
