Raccoon

Procyon lotor

Description:

A female raccoon and four of her kits were trapped in our attic in May 2019. We then decided to call a wildlife exterminator, who caught the animals in a humane trap. The raccoon kits were then reunited with their mother, soon to be released into the wild.

Habitat:

The raccoon is a highly adaptable species, being able to live in both forested in urban areas. Although these individuals were spotted in our attic, they were soon relocated into a park in Mahwah, New Jersey.
