Hi Leana, I did further research on our spotted-eye hoverfly. It turns out Eristalinus megacephalus is of African and Palaearctic distribution, and Eristalinus arvorum is the Oriental version. Pls see my comments in Noel's spotting - http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/125....
