White-faced Meadowhawk

Sympetrum obtrusum

Description:

A white-faced, red and black (male) Dragonfly of small to average size

Habitat:

Areas of open or native prairie grasses, fairly close (within one city block) to fresh water

Notes:

More prone to fly away from than land on you; these guys seem slightly on the shy side to me, unlike other dragonflies I've come in contact with.
