Isocentris Crambid Moth

Isocentris filalis

Description:

Isocentris filalis (Guenée, 1854) of family Crambidae. Isocentris is a small genus with only three species in the world. The spotting is a pretty yellow moth with green eyes and old-rose coloured wing pattern and about 2cm in wingspan. The adult moths of this species are yellow with broad brown patterned margins, and a brown mark on the costa of each forewing. The species is found over much of south-east Asia, including Australia.

Habitat:

Backyard, spotted on Poinciana (Caesalpinia pulcherrima) leaves.
