Praying Mantis

Stagmomantis sp.

Notes:

Female praying mantis near the end of its life if it had not already expired. I was told it was a nymph. Which would explain the lack of wings. Thank you

Interesting find. This is actually a Mantis nymph. You can tell because the wings are not fully developed yet. I am not sure of the species and it may be impossible to find out. Many nymphs of different species look similar and can be hard to distinguish with a photo.

It's possible that this one was injured. Perhaps it escaped from a predator.
