Description:

Standing proud presumably having just eaten.

Habitat:

Near submersed rocks in the middle or a large lake

Notes:

This cormorant flew off as it was spooked by us some 100 metres away. Very private bird.

Phalacrocorax carbo is the correct scientific name for this Peter. It also has many other Common names as in many other parts of the world there are several species of Cormorant but only this one in Western Europe, hence the shortened name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Cormo...
