Lycaena phlaeas
Male. Charming little butterfly of the Lycanidae family. The male has the forewings of very vivid orange copper, with spots and black margins; the hindwings are bronze black, with an irregular orange band on the back edge, and two small tails. The underside of the forewings are pale orange with black spots, and the underside of the hindwings, pale gray with diffuse black spots and an irregular orange band on the back. The larvae can associate with ants.
