Description:

Antlions can be fairly small to very large neuropterans, with wingspans ranging from 2 - 15 cm. The adult has two pairs of long, narrow, multiveined, translucent wings and a long, slender abdomen.

Habitat:

Antlions live in a range of usually dry habitats including open woodland floors, scrub - clad dunes, hedge bases, river banks, road verges, under raised buildings and in vacant lots.
