Eucalyptus shield bug

Poecilometis strigatus

Description:

A large bug with cream and brown speckled pattern, antennae has two pale bands near the tip, legs mostly pale except for rear femurs dark. The underside is very pale with occasional dark spots.
About 25mm long.

Habitat:

On the trunk of a mid sized eucalyptus in a local national park. Churchill NP, Lysterfield.

Notes:

Match made on antennae markings to Ken Harris' on I.N.
