Black-crested Titmouse

Parus atricristatus

Description:

A small, gray, mouse-colored bird with a tufted crest. Underparts pale, sides rusty, light spot between the eye and bill. Those in much of southern, central, and western Texas have a black crown and crest (this form is regarded by some as a distinct species.

Habitat:

Wildlife habitat yard.

Notes:

I had brushed my dogs and put the hair out in a suet feeder, where I caught this little titmouse collecting it for its nest.
