This is one of my best spottings during my stay in Maliau Basin. A small black snail carrying its white shell with beautiful patterns. Shell diameter just 16mm.
Bushes near the MBSC mosque, Maliau Basin, Sabah.
>>>Map accuracy : 5km diameter. This is the first and only time I have seen this species. Special thanks to the legendary Menno Schilthuizen for the ID.
The closest I could find, was the Euhadra peliomphala, which is a Japanese species

but I guess that at least the family name, Euhadra sp, is correct, since it is found mainly in Eastern Asia, and it contains lots of small to medium size whitish snail species, with incredible variety of patterns ...
Thank you my fellow friends.
I suppose we can call this Mandala Snail then. :-)
Nice. I am trying to get help from someone but don't know if he can ID one from Malaysia.
